Sealants

Molar teeth have deep and narrow grooves on their chewing surfaces which are too narrow to be cleaned with the bristles of a toothbrush. The remaining food and bacteria cause tooth decay and cavities to form. Dental sealants are liquid resins that the dental professional places into these small grooves. This results in a smoother tooth surface that is easier to clean and less prone to decay. Sealants play an important role in preventing dental caries from happening.
